IT season

i can't even say IT ... it's so inherent in my life right now ... sleepless nights over IT ... i can't eat or breathe without even thinking about IT ... alright, maybe not to that extreme, but close enough ...

it's high time i did IT after being so pre-occupied with my client's affairs ... somehow, i am just so disinterested in my own affairs about IT (yea, i'm sick and tired of IT) ...

but i am proud to say that i did IT!!! yup! finally e-filed my return today after weeks of procrastination ...

bee-day celebrations (part 3)

Orchid Country Club for a round of pain(t)ball with uni friends ... a belated bee-day celebration ... thanks all for organizing & rounding up those who could make it :) also, thanks for the presents! was almost worried that i wasn't going to get any ... hahaha

anyway, we used up 1,000 pellets amongst the 7 of us ... split into 2 teams ... 3 & 4 aside ... objective of the game was to hit 2 targets down before carrying the ammo box back to the home base ... without getting shot down of course ...

i got shot at really hard a couple of times ... i have 2 huge bruises developing already (each pellet can travel up to 300 ft per shot) ... thanks to keith who kept aiming at my chest ... of all places ... good gawd! c'mon man ... its not as if i need 'flattening' right?

played 4 rounds ... lasted 45 mins ... totally exhausting! with all the running and dodging + the heat from the mask was quite unbearable ... we all had difficulty breathing ... nevetheless it was loads of fun ... keith was the highlight of the day ... turning up in his No.4 uniform ... so hard-core & hilarious!!!

met the rest of the gang for dinner at Thomson Road for seafood and later ... drinks + rounds of R.O.C.K rock at Liquid Kitchen ...

guess this marks the end of the bee-day celebrations ... so far, this has been the most memorable bee-day EVER!

a weekend with ... a granny + a tranny

it's Po Po's (grandma) 86th bee-day and we all gathered for lunch at Roland's ... food was good, cake was yummy ... nice seeing everyone again ... yea, it was full attendance today :)

the 'blings' entertained ourselves by taking pictures of .... ourselves ... to the amusement of the relatives ... the Lees are quite a crazy bunch as you can tell from the other pics that i took with the youngest 'bling' at home ... i must say that Leon's room is cool!

watched Transamerica last night ... about a transsexual coming to terms with shimself (uh huh, its a 'shim' alright) upon realising that (s)he had a son ... quite a good show, very light-hearted with comical references now and then ... very avant-garde ... my kind of thing ... go catch!

XXX dreams

just remembered that JD brought the subject of tax dreams during lunch today ... apparently, he gets them ... surprisingly ... thought he would be quite nonchalant about work stuff ...

seems like the rest of the peeps don't get these dreams ... except me ... damnit! can't help it if i lurrvvve my job right? oh man, that line is so overused nowadays ... yea, i'm dreaming about deadlines, what i owe my clients + managers, what sort of information that i need to follow up on, remembering if i have any meetings the next day, what work to delegate to my assistant so that she can maintain her chargeability ... good gawd ... i'm going bonkers ....

lee, tee & i set a new record for ourselves tonight ... we were the only souls left on our floor when we left the office at 1am ... j-mee was like 'what's up man?!' ... frankly, i have no idea ... its a sudden adrenaline rush i guess?

i'm zoned out and indefinitely exhausted!

late night yet again ... its a friday night ... so what am i doing in the office???? was just asking around about having a beer ... i sooo need one .... and viola ... it appeared! thanks to my assistant ... who got it from the partner's weekly party ... *slurp* + *burp* .... ahhh ... makes work a lot more bearable ... hey, she volunteered to get me a beer ok? i didn't 'make' her get it ... hahaha

back to work :

there is just so much on my plate right now that i don't know where to start ... i'm really drowning in a puddle of files ...

some people are camping in the office tonight ... the marathon ends at 7am ... i can't do that man ... i can't even club until 7am ... let alone work! well, we'll see how long tonight i can stretch until ...

back to happier thoughts ... lunch was with the peeps and JD today ... i had the honour of rounding him up for lunch .... awwww ..... *blush* + *heart racing* + *butterflies in stomach*

it was good! surprisingly, he was cool about lunching at our fav joint - the teh tarik stall ... conversations were lively without awkward moments .... great lunch!

BIG towel thrower

OMG!!! ... i can't resist blogging about this even though its still official hours at work ...

just came back from the weekly team-meeting (aka slaughtering / firing session ... bullet-proof vests not included) ... it was announced that one of the heavy weights (yea, literally) has thrown in the towel! yes!!!! another one!!! in the midst of peak season!!!

after building her empire over the years and nudging her enemies to leave ... with some luck ... she is leaving!!! ... on a high note i guess ... given that she is the queen of queens in more ways than one ...

hmm ... well, at least i know i won't be working under her IF she becomes manager next year ...

whew! its finally over!

the presentation went well ... it was a smaller group than expected ... i ran though the whole presentation and SRM did the Q&A portion ... was actually feeling rather tired halfway through and was starting to lose focus ... but anyhow .. it was good considering that preparations were quite last minute ... luckily I had SRM with me ... otherwise I would have been bombarded and fired at the entire time ...

well, back to lunch & work :)

post bee-day thoughts

first and foremost ... a HUGE THANK YOU to the peeps (aka the 'ees' + @lloy) for the cake and pressies on friday and for the wonderful night out on saturday ... it was a BLAST!!! also to jee, great to have another buddy to celebrate with :)

thanks also to tee & lee for the pre-bee-day celebrations at MoS on friday night ... it was female bondage ... i mean, bonding .... hahahahaha :)

'Thank Yous' also for the SMSes and calls ... especially from those overseas ... *muacks*

its back to work today ... felt like a sunday ... gawd ... had absolutely no mood for work ... the party on Sat was THE subject of the day ... and we finally got to invite JD out for lunch this week, as we had promised ...

Mum called me in the office today after she had read my blog entries ... in shock and in awe (the pictures were quite graphic ... hehehe) with belated birthday wishes ... she was hoping for a 'bee-day celebration (part 3)' ... stay tuned mum! :)

p/s : reality has sunk in ... just logged onto friendster ... to my utter dismay ... my age (+1) is now broadcasted for all ..... sigh ...

bee-day celebrations (part 2)

yay! today is the day i turn ??? ... okay, i have people welcoming me to the late-twennies club ... with complimentary membership :)

met the gang for dinner at Akvavit for fish & chips and trotted down to clarke quay to chill out before heading to MoS (yea, again!) ... on our way to TCC, we bumped into JD (the bee-day boy too) and he treated us to a round of shots at Ras ... aw, so sweet!

finally headed to MoS after chilling out ... thanks to lee, we managed to get a bed at Pure Room ... woo-hoo! felt like some opium den! everyone was so trigger-happee, we took more than 200 photos in one night ... we drank, danced like crazy and everyone was merry ...

after we left MoS, we decided to take up JD's invite for another round of drinks at Attica ... oh man! the place was teeming with expats and SPGs ... if not for JD, we'd feel so out of place ... being the good sport, JD bought everyone rounds of drinks yet again ... and we all headed to the dance floor with the usual crazy antics :)

after attica closed for the night ... only lee, j-mee & me were left standing ... so we followed JD up to Attica Too ... Attica Too was yet another harem ... the place was packed even at 5am in the morning! unbelievable!!! more drinks ensued and we tried to wring some stuff from JD about who he would like to date from the office ... to no avail ... the guy was too darn smart to divulge anything ... but at least, he managed to feel quite knackered after so many rounds of drinks ... mission accomplished! whew, i'm glad i didn't get wasted :)

bee-day celebrations (part 1)

to coincide with jee's bee-day, celebrations started a day earlier in the office ... her birthday was on friday, march 17th itself ..

there was the cake cutting and photo-taking for both jee & i ... at the other end of the office, there was another group celebrating JD's bee-day as well (the gang was so thrilled by JD's party invite for sat ... hee) ... thereafter we had no mood to work ... altho' we could have left the office at 3.30pm for a company BBQ at east coast, we didn't budge ... preferring to stay back in our comfy seats and overflowing desks .... yea, so much for loving our jobs ...

lee, tee & i then adjourned for dinner at MOS (the burger joint) with bee in tow ... then headed for a couple of shots at O Bar ... ambience sux but shots are really cheap there! anyway, managed to get a lil high before heading down MoS (the club) for Cleo's 50 Most Eligible Bachelors Party!!!

i have never done the groupie thing before ... so crashing this function was quite an experience ... we arrived rather late but managed to catch the Bachelor's crowning glory ... not very impressed ... BUT we managed to catch Shan Wee .... er, he didn't win the contest but obviously, we HAD to take a picture with him!

just found out today that i am slated to give a presentation to a client next week ... to a group of 10 bankers in fact ... all by myself ... sigh ...

its been ages since i last did a presentation ... and knowing how bankers are ... *groan* ... i think its gonna be a firing squad that day ... i'm starting to feel the butterflies in my stomach ...

its time to brush up my presentation skills and do up the slides this weekend ... in the midst of the busy filing season ... its bad timing ...

oh well, its a good opportunity i guess :)

tattoo me / tattoo me not

i have been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo for years now ...

at first, i wanted to get one for my 21st birthday, however, i couldn't find anything that was symbolic enough to warrant a 'permanent stamp' on myself ...

over the years, i have been seaching for something meaningful ... or just something that i could see myself having for the rest of my life ... sigh ... choices, choices, choices ... and decisions ...

well, as i inch towards being a year older, the thought of getting a tattoo has crossed my mind again ... i do have something in mind now ... and i know the spot which i would like to have the tattoo at ... so maybe, just maybe ... its about time ... we'll see ...

ahhh...a new me

FINALLY!!!! had some time off to run errands for myself today :)

went to service my mobile phone ... i swear, i am such a jinx when it comes to mobile phones :(

over the past 2 years, i think i have been to the Nokia service centre at least 5 times to service my phone ... 2 different phone sets some more!!! i'll be damned ...

next stop ... headed to the hair salon for a cut/colour/wash & blow ... i'm always at a loss as to what i wanna do to my hair ... always wanted a new radical hairdo with crazy colours and all ... but alas, due to the staid work environment i 'live' in, this is not possible ... hmm, maybe next time (yea, that's what i always tell myself)

anyhow, instead of my usual streaks, i settled for something different ... i had layers of coloured highlights instead ... hmm, doesn't make sense huh? well, u gotta see it for yourself then! oooh yes, i also had my fringe done in coloured layers ... the result ... something a lil less radical :) i'm pleased ... new locks and razor straight bangs ... hmmm, i do look like an overgrown manga ...

first impressions

ever wondered what people thought of you? the very FIRST impression?

i had a meeting with a TV producer for coffee yesterday ... nope, nothing illicit ... not after the tammy incident ... the blackivory gals are set to appear on tee-vee for an interview soon! woo hoo! i digress ...

anyhow, we made small talk and the usual questions ensued ... and it just got me thinking about what sort of questions people normally ask me to break the ice ... the standard questions are :

"how tall are you ah?", "wah, your parents must very tall leh!", "your boyfriend must be very tall right?", "would you date a shorter guy?", "how you shop for clothes ah?", "you got model before not?"

and the ultimate questions :

"you must the youngest in the family right?" or BESTEST "you only child right?"

hmm ... is that the impression i give?

got my eye-lashes permed today! yea, it sounds odd but i DID IT!

well, lee started the craze so tee & i decided to give it shot ... made the appointment and snuck off at 5pm to the spa across the office ... the moment we stepped in, all our woes just melted away and it was such a welcome feeling after a sucky day.

needless to say, i fell asleep during the one hour 'curling' session which was such a welcome relief for my throbbing headache from the scorching afternoon sun ...

well, i'm quite pleased with the new curls ... never knew my lashes could be 'pert'! hahahaha

believe it or not, we are supposed to brush our lashes everyday to maintain the curls ... guess who's shopping for a new comb this weekend ... sigh ... for the sake of vanity ...

1. the aircon in the office does not automatically shut down at 6pm ... it continues to blast until 9pm.

2. empty biscuit tins ... courtesy of the 'kiasu' hungarians.

3. fortresses around the cube grow taller ... as the files pile up leaving little walking space ...

4. as such, injuries are on the rise as people tend to trip up *ouch* ...

5. absenteeism rate increases ... medical leave, urgent leave, family care leave, whatever leave becomes more prevalent ...

6. time-charging officially emerges as the new puzzle of the day ... how to account for lost time ... who says we can't engage in creative accounting?

7. learning new swear words in a different language.
