Posters

I just received my stash of posters which I purchased from The Small Stakes.

Well, I haven't actually seen them at this point, but Mum said they were nice! So I trust that they are. At US$25 per piece, it better be!
These are some others which I love but were already sold out. Am contemplating getting some more. A lot of the good stuff are already gone. Am waiting for the next batch to be up to order more. Drop me a line if you are interested and we can split shipping costs!

Now, the next step is getting them framed ...

Moi Chinoserie

With the upcoming Lunar New Year, I created a line of jewelry that will be sold at SY's shop selling quirky cheongsams. This is a very late delivery, having promised her that I would come up with a line of jewelry since September last year.

Plagued by guilt, I spent last Sunday afternoon working with the materials that I had bought from Hong Kong while using other knick knacks from my collection of vintage finds as well.

Here is a preview of my efforts :)

Satisfaction.

Singapore Biennale - Stairway to Heaven

Saturday 14.10.2006

Went for the Singapore Biennale Walking Art Trail Tour - Stairway to Heaven ... which covers the following religious sites ... Maghain Aboth Synagogue, Church of Sts Peter & Paul, Sculpture Square, Sri Krishnan Temple, Kwan Im Temple ...

In line with the Belief theme, each site holds a couple of art exhibits that bear some relevance to the respective religions ... very interesting! Especially liked the 'Stairway To Heaven' installation artwork at Sri Krishnan Temple ... the artist created a fibre-optic ladder sandwiched between 2 mirrors installed on the ceiling and on the floor to create an optical illusion of a ladder to heaven ... very cool indeed!

Tourist for a day pics ...

:: at SMU ... the starting point for the Trail ::

:: Church of Sts Peter & Paul ::

:: Sri Krishnan Temple ::

:: Sculpture Square ::

:: Kwan Im Temple ... the leaves are actually inscribed with Chinese Mantras! ::

Singapore Biennale 2006 - Tanglin Camp

The 3rd part of the Biennale series ... this time i roped in Chinyi to join me as well :)

yay! fellow camslut = more pics ... hehe

:: the hammocks are actually installation artwork ::

:: the above 2 pictures represent 2 artworks by Takashi Kuribayashi and they are my favs of the exhibits at Tanglin Camp ...
imagine Alice (In Wonderland) through the looking glass ...
to view the exbihits 'through the looking glass' one has to climb up the stairs and
voila! one becomes a frog in a pond ... peering up from the water into lush jungle greenery ...
in the other instance ... one becomes part of the aquarium ...
staring at visitors among a tank of corals ...
fun! ::

Singapore Biennale 2006 - City Hall

Went for another Biennale series ... this time at City Hall ... a lot more exhibits here as compared to the National Museum ...

Joined the on-site tour which lasted 1 - 1.5 hours ... a good choice as it gave better insight into the artists and their respective works ... given that 99% of the exhibits did not have any narrations in order for one to appreciate the artwork ... however, if one really wants on-site narrations, the other alternative is to use a mobile phone to dial into a dedicated line which will then blurt out the necessary info ... bleah!

It was a very enriching experience ... since i have never been inside City Hall itself ... quite a thrill to walk through the hallways ... into the judges' chambers *grinz* + the courtrooms *grinz grinz* without being criminalised :)

Am not gonna elaborate on the exhibits this time as there were too many ... came across some very disturbing ones too :(

No pictures of my visit as well ... due to poor lighting + quite a number of video installations ...

oh yes, here i am pigging out again ... this time at the alley of Keong Saik Road for some very good Zhe Char + drinks at Whatever cafe ...
